Pregnant 38 weeks out milky white mucus

The release of fluid from the birth canal before the final weeks of pregnancy should be considered as a rupture of membranes. Rupture of membranes, depending on the age of pregnancy, can be a normal labor process or even premature rupture of membranes (gestational age below 37 weeks). Here it is important to ensure the age of pregnancy in order to determine the next step. Direct examination is required by Doctor / Obstetrician Specialist (Sp.OG) to know for sure your pregnancy age (you may be wrong remember the first day of last menstruation).

Doctors will usually perform an ultrasound examination to measure the fetus that suggests the age of pregnancy. From there it can be determined whether the fluid is a membrane that breaks normally (early in labor) or even premature rupture of membranes, which need to be followed up to prevent fetal and maternal infections. Usually, in rupture of membranes will be followed by a regular feeling of heartburn increasingly frequent and strong accompanied by painless waist pain with changes in position, can be followed by the release of mucus mixed with blood through the birth canal (true labor). If not accompanied by a sense of heartburn, the possibility of excessive fluid is:

Normal leucorrhea - a normal occurrence in pregnant women due to hormonal changes

Abnormal vaginal discharge - usually marked by itching, pain or odor

Unrestrained urine
For more details, you should still go to the doctor. Abnormal vaginal discharge may cause a potential birth canal infection of newborns and also cause maternal infection. Early diagnosis and treatment can prevent this from happening. Also read about: abnormal conditions of amniotic fluid
